Country Clothing: What To Look For

Country clothing, such as equestrian clothing and shooting clothing, is the best option when you want to enjoy the great outdoors. These types of clothing are made out of strong materials such as heavy duty cotton and denim and are often waterproof.

When you think of country clothing, you think of what the cowboys wear. And you couldnt be more right, as country clothes are rough, tough and smart. You can wear them to something as laidback as a picnic with your family at the park, to go dancing at a Western country club, to pick apples and milk the cows at a farm, or to play summer sports.

Denim jeans are probably the most foolproof piece of country clothing out there. They never seem to look dirty even after youve rolled around in the dust and theyre really protective. As for tops, nothing spells country better than a vintage plaid and snap button shirt with that rugged look.

For equestrian clothing, you will need a riding hat or helmet, first of all. Ideally, a leather one will give you ample protection, and a ventilated one will keep your head cool throughout those long rides. Another would be a riding vest to protect your body, particularly your vital organs, in the event of a fall.

To help protect your bottom during horseback riding, a padded pair of riding breeches will do the trick. Paddock boots are great for protecting your feet if you get caught in the stirrup, especially if you fall off. The design will let your foot slip out of the stirrup and prevent any broken bones and other serious foot injuries.

Shooting clothing is important as they will not only make you look really good but these will also protect your body better than normal, everyday clothes. You can start with a shooting jacket, preferably lightweight and waterproof. To protect your legs, a pair of shooting trousers will keep those thorny bushes away from your skin.
