A lot of people seem to ask a lot of questions when it comes to vehicle tracking and with good reason too. If you are looking to put something like a GPS tracker on a vehicle then you are going to need to know what is supposed to work and what is not. of course you could end up in prison if you go down the wrong path!
The Legal Stuff
First of all let's talk about what is legal as this is what most people are interested in hearing and of course this makes sense! When thinking about a business you need to be aware that a GPS vehicle tracker is allowed to be put in place as long as you tell the driver that this is the case, if you do not do this then you are in trouble. It is important that you do this because if you do not and they find out then this is when the illegal part of it comes into play.
Something else that is legal and is well worth knowing is the fact that you can put a GPS tracker or any other audio surveillance or spy video recorder in a car that is owned by you so this is always a good thing. Of course this also means that if your partner is driving a car that you own you can put a tracker on their car to see exactly what they get up too, excellent!
The Other Side
It is not legal to put a tracker on a piece of property that you do not actually own and this is extremely important to note. If your wife's vehicle is not even partly in your name then you have no right to touch it and you should not do so, you cannot go near it.
Knowing the dos and don'ts of this spy gadget is extremely important, at least it is if you want to avoid a big fine or worse, jail.
